An exception is the personal belongings of accredited employees of diplomatic missions of foreign states in the Russian Federation, which are exempted from payment of import duties in full. A preferential deduction in the amount of 5000 EURO when paying the import duty can be obtained by citizens of the Russian Federation who were consular registered in the country of arrival and have not visited the Russian Federation for the past 12 months. Thus, apparently, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation is trying to put a barrier in the way of the "shuttles", by which it considers all citizens arriving in Russia.
