International shipping of personal belongings is often carried out duty-free upon confirmation of the owner's long-term residence in the country. However, Russia levies an import duty on goods – 4 euros per kg, excluding diplomatic cargo. Russian citizens who have lived abroad for more than a year may receive a deduction of 5000 euros.
